We’re delighted to welcome Rainbow Corner Day Nursery as our latest employer partner. A thriving, values-driven early years setting that has been serving its community for over 30 years.
Rainbow Corner Day Nursery, now owned by Kathleen Staines, provides care and early education for around 100 children and operates at 95% capacity, with a growing waiting list. With a strong local reputation, the nursery employs over 30 staff and is actively investing in the future of the sector by supporting apprentices. They currently have two apprentices in place and are looking forward to welcoming a third this September.
At the heart of Rainbow Corner Day Nursery are values that closely align with our own. The nursery encourages kindness, sharing, confidence, and positive behaviour – all vital building blocks for a successful start in life. Their team plays a central role in modelling these behaviours and helping children prepare for school.
When asked what advice they would offer other employers considering apprenticeships or work placements, their message was clear:
“Look for someone who communicates well, is open to learning, and shows a genuine interest in working with children. There’s a lot of work and responsibility in early years: it’s far more than just playtime. The right person makes all the difference.”
The team also shared their appreciation for our college support, particularly from Sara Langford, our vocational trainer coach at Grimsby Institute, who works closely with Rainbow Corner Day Nursery to ensure their apprentices thrive:
